After what seemed like the longest winter on record (we even saw snow a few times in Cape May!), we are more ready for summer than ever! If you are planning a trip to Cape May this summer, here are some great events to check out at the start of the summer season.
Memorial Day Weekend
Memorial Day Weekend is the official start to the summer season and we’re thrilled to kick it off with days filled with sun and fun! Our accommodations offer several amenities that are perfect for enjoying summer days. We have bikes to ride, boogie boards to borrow and grills and patio sets to enjoy summer dinners outdoors. In addition to what we offer, here are some other great events not to miss!
May 25, 26, and 30th: The Cape May Stage presents Erma Bombeck: At Wit’s End.
May 25: This is the final show of the play A Year in the Trenches at the East Lynne Theater. We have discounted tickets available for this and other East Lynne shows. Be sure to add them to your reservation when you book online or speak with us on the phone.

Saturday, May 26th: The Annual Kiwanis Club Yard Sale takes place at The Clubhouse on Beach Avenue. It’s a great spot to discover some treasures!
Sunday, May 27th: The Cape May Music Festival will kick off with a performance at Rotary Park with the Atlantic Brass Band at 7pm. Outdoor live music is played throughout the summer in Cape May and the Music Festival is a great way to experience it.
Many of the area wineries and distilleries are hosting live music at their venues over the weekend. Check out our blog to find information for each location.
Saturday, June 2nd brings the return of the West Cape May Strawberry Festival in Wilbraham Park and the Community Yard Sale at Cape May City Elementary School.
June 3- 10 marks Cape May Restaurant Week and is a fantastic week to plan a romantic getaway and enjoy fixed price multi course meals at the finest restaurants in Cape May. We have some great suggestions of romantic restaurants on our website, and you can cross reference to see if they are part of the week’s specials.
June 6-9 is the 38th Annual Shark Tournament hosted by South Jersey Marina. It’s a big-game sport fishing tournament that has a big purse for the winners. If you and your friends are looking for a fun and adventurous mini getaway, this may be the event for you!
June 9-10 is the weekend for shoppers! The Boardwalk Craft Show is a fun event to attend to shop and stroll along the promenade and enjoy the beach.

June 10 - For the athletes among the group, the Escape the Cape Triathlon is being held on a Sunday morning. Details are here.
June 13 - The East Lynne Theater begins their next show, “On the Sunny Side of the Street: The Lyrics of Dorothy Fields.” is a world premiere musical revue and sure to delight Broadway fans. June 16-17 is the Military Timeline Weekend at Historic Cold Spring Village. Their event schedule is full of special weekend events throughout the summer season, so it is definitely worth a visit. June 23-24 is their Quilt & Fiber Arts Show and June 30 - July is their Independence Day Celebration Weekend.

June 23rd is the return of the Cape May Hops Festival. This FREE Event is hosted at the Emlen Physick Estate (just blocks from Antoinette’s Apartments & Suites!), it’s a great event for craft beer fans. Read more about the craft beer scene in Cape May here.
June 27 - The Cape May Stage launches “Chapter Two,” a play by Neil Simon and that show runs through August 3rd. Please visit their website for time and date details.
June 27 - Help commemorate the 60th Anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s visit to Cape May. The program will include the presentation of Dr. King’s speech on “Nonviolence & Racial Justice” which was presented at the Friends Annual Conference in 1958 and will be held at Convention Hall. This program is sponsored by City of Cape May, Center for Community Arts, Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts & Humanities, The Macedonia Baptist Church of Cape May, The Chamber of Commerce of Greater Cape May and the Cape May Historical Society.
