Freddie’s Loft

A charming and cozy new suite has just opened at Antoinette’s Apartments & Suites. The space is named Freddie’s Loft, in honor of Deanna’s father. Antoinette’s is conveniently located one block from the Washington Street Mall and only a short walk to the beach, promenade, restaurants, farm stands and more.

Located on the third/top floor of the historic five-unit building, this suite is a generously large loft with one and a half bedrooms and an additional living area. It is a comfortable and modern place to stay and sleeps up to three people.

Guests have access to all of Antoinette’s amenities, including its own fully equipped kitchen, barbecue, outdoor seating on the porch and patio area and the use of bicycle and beach equipment.

As you enter at the top of the stairs, you will see a living area with a couch, TV/DVD player and a kitchen area with a sink and a dishwasher. Off the kitchen area is a bathroom with a toilet, a sink and a bathtub with a shower seat.

If you go to the front of the suite, there is an open living space with sofa bed, small dining table, and a sleeping loft with a full-size bed.

At the rear of the suite, there are two twin beds with a sewing area used by the innkeeper.

Guests should be physically able to climb safely up and down the three flights of stairs to enter the private loft apartment. As the ceilings are a bit low, please watch your head in this cozy and cute space.

This suite is dedicated to Frederick Brown. Who is Freddie?

During the winter of 1996, Deanna was joined by her 80-year-old father, Freddie, who only planned to stay the winter. He stayed seven years.

To keep himself busy, he built his first wooden boat model in the winter of 1996. The guests loved the ship and appreciated the workmanship of a senior citizen, so Freddie expanded his repertoire to more ships and dollhouses of all kinds.

During the summer of 1999, the models were moved to the front porch for the summer visitors. These dollhouses became a stopping point for the visitors passing by the house, horse and buggies and the Cape May trolleys. Freddie’s Loft is a tribute to the wonderful time Freddie shared his senior years with Antoinette’s guests.
